My new year has started and I'm so excited about the possibilities!!! I have several goals in place for my new year. I will share them eventually...but right now I'm just enjoying the newness of the year.
On another note...I'm super excited the birthday cake is gone. I'm a sucker for some cake. Okay...I'm a sucker for cake, ice cream, cookies, candy...anything with sugar in it and I'm a goner. In an effort to get the sugar out of my system I'm quitting cold turkey. Yup...now don't get it twisted...there will be sugar in my life...in the form of fruits and those attached to my oatmeal. Fluffy talked about it in this post on her blog. Other than that none of the crap that I love. I'm going to try to make it an entire week. Have mercy. I know I can do it...but it's going to be hard.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week!!!

I know what you mean about sugar. My youngest's birthday is next Friday and he's already talking about a cake from Coldstone Creamery...ice cream cake...one of my biggest weaknesses!
I love new years and fresh starts!
I bet you see a big loss at the end of that week - and it'll get so much easier after day 3! ;) You got this.
I am not doing a complete sugar detox, but aside from the bit o sugar that goes in my morning coffee, I am trying to go sugar free the rest of the day. It's as hard as a mo-fo considering I love my sweet tea, but it's not too bad after hte first week.
cold turkey? wowza. You're brave!
Okay, then I am rooting you on! I quit sugar for about a year, and it did me good (this was about 20 years ago - eeek!) I did it like you are saying - I still ate fruit and bread and things, just didn't eat obvious processed sugar items. I think it really helped keep me more "level". Go you!!!!!!!!! Keep us posted how it goes. I didn't crave it after a while. Or if I did, eating something like a banana would honestly do the trick. It was hard at the time because I was touring 10 months a year and almost constantly a guest in people's homes, so I didn't have a lot of control over what was served. I skipped desserts, and then breakfasts tended to be the second hardest meals, with so many sugary items offered. Anyway. YOU GO GIRL!!!
New year....fresh start...sounds good to me!
Make sure you're eating all that yummy protein ... like Ronnie...that will sate you.
XO
can't wait to hear about your goals girl, I am sure you'll meet and exceed them :)
New Year! Yay! I'll go cold turkey with you in solidarity! Something has got to give!
