These are my confessions....

I confess that I have not logged my food or exercised since Wednesday, May 11, 2011.  Yup.  I screwed that up.  No real excuse except laziness and travel.  I had the book with me, but didn't log.  I have missed my workouts, but I have not been.  There has been something on my days that I had to do...ha.

*Yesterday I started logging again.  I didn't make it to Zumba today, but I will be back on Saturday.*

I confess that I cry in my car every morning before I go into my job.  I feel empty when I'm there...I feel my soul leaving my body each time I enter those steel doors.

I confess that although I love my mother I hate that she is the only person I can depend on to watch my kids.  I hate that she throws up in my face that she feels I'm using her sometime. I confess that I wish I could fire her and afford someone else.

I confess that my husband is the most boring person in the world.  LOL  Watching paint dry is more interesting.

I confess that I want to be a missionary.

These are my confessions!

Blogger is pissing me off!!!

I can't comment on most blogs.  It keeps telling me to log in.  I am not getting my updates.  I'm not happy.

So if you have an updated post and I follow you...sorry I can't comment.

I'm teaching a training class this week so my mid-day comments (the ones I can leave) will be limited.  Hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Did yall see Stephanie post op pics.  Huge difference.  I'm so happy for her.

Thank you!!

I wanted to say thank you for all of the wonderful, kind comments about my 6 month progress pictures.  I don't think I would be able to navigate this band without the help and encouragement of my BOOBS.  I love you all.

And for your viewing pleasure.  Me...in XL sweat pants.  The last pair I bought were 3X.  Color me happy!!

Six month progress pictures

Already family here they are.  Charles (the hubby) says he can see the difference in the pictures.  I think I see a few changes myself...which makes me smile.  Since we all know early today I was ready to give the scale an ole' school beatdown.

The picture to the left is me the day before surgery November 15, 2011 at 311 lbs. (i think).  Picture on the right is me tonight at 280 lbs.

I had to wear a different bra...but the same shorts.  Either I shrunk or my husband grew...but they heights are off.  LOL  But you get the gist of it.

Maybe it's me, but I'm pretty sure my ample ass has gone down quite a bit.  Also my thighs look smaller...and you can see my collar bones.  Yeah for collarbones!

Sigh....

Frustrated can not even begin to explain how I am feeling about the battle the scale and I are having.  I have been sitting pretty at 31 pounds loss for over a month now.  At six months out I would like to see a more substantial weight loss.  It is depressing at times.  However, I refuse to let it define this experience for me.

I know in my heart of hearts that the best is yet to come.  The scale is evil.  I mean my clothes are falling off my body, but the damn scale won't budge.  I know we have all been here...but damn it I don't want to take up residency in plateauville.  Nope...I will not.

Time for something new.  Any exercise suggestions.  I'm already doing Zumba 3 days a week.  I power walk on Thursday for 3 miles.  All suggestions are welcomed.

I'm done bitching....for now.  I will post my progress pictures tonight.  I hope everyone is having a fabulous week.

NSV...travel...and this crazy ass band!!

I went home to Indiana this weekend.  It was great.  I surprised a good friend at her graduation.  She was so happy to see me.  Especially after I spoke to her earlier in the day and told her I was so sorry I couldn't make it.  LOL

Well my first NSV started on the plane ride.  I no longer need a seat belt extender.  That's right....I was able to buckle the seat belt with little to no help.  I was so excited I started to shimmy in my seat.  LOL

My crazy band was being mean to me.  LOL  Okay maybe not.  I'm just not used to eating around others...so talking and eating is not good for the chew chew chew doctrine.  The first meal of the weekend found me in the restroom at White Castle slimming.  Not cool.  However, after I was done.  I was able to finish the meal.  ha ha. My best friend Yoti just laughed and shook her head.  But she understood.

The next meal of the night resulted in the same issue.  That is when I realized it was the damn french fries I was trying to eat from two different places.  LOL  Apparently, french fries are no longer on my list of things I can eat.  LOL!!

My second NSV happened on Friday.  Shopping with Karla (my bestest good friend in the whole wide world) I was able to purchase 3 items (2 dresses, 1 jumpsuit) in (drum roll please) size 18/20!!!!  Who the hell would have thunk it.  LOL  I was so excited.  Oh yeah I got a new tattoo on Friday too. My tattoo guy even noticed I lost weight since the last time he saw me.  How cool is that.  I am so glad that I am married.  This guy has given me 4 of my tattoos.  The very first one...12 years ago.  To make a long story short...the damn tattoo turned me on and I pretty much molested the man in the tattoo shop.  Gosh I'm so glad I'm married, because it would have been on and popping.  ROFL!!!

The rest of the weekend resulted in more stuck episodes...unfortunately for me.  LOL  I just kept running my damn mouth and trying to chew.  The shit doesn't work people.  Do not try it at home.  I hate being stuck.  I hate slimming and the occasional puke.  Needless to say when I came home yesterday and today no issues.  Because I kept my big mouth shut and just chewed.

Also May 16th marked 6 months since receiving my band.  I will post a picture post this week.  Let's see the comparison.

I have missed y'all this weekend.  Catching up on blog post and commenting could take forever.  So I'm just reading and commenting as I see fit.

I can't think of a title...LOL

I couldn't think of a title as this is the most random post ever.  LOL

First and foremost....I booked my flight for Chicago today.  You would think I already had a flight since I had roomies.  Nope.  I'm the cheapest person ever.  I had to wait until I could fly for under $200.  Here is a tip if you don't know always purchase airfare on Tuesday around noon.  Previously held seats and reservations are let go for non-payment on Tuesday morning.

I'm going home in 2 days.  I'm so excited to see my friends.  Also I have plans for 3 tattoos.  I'm so geeked.  My tatto guy never called or texted me back.  Luckily my bestfriend is getting a tatt from his girlfriend so she was in the shop and he gave me an appointment.

I think I need a revamped eating plan.  I just don't think my diet is cutting it.  I think my biggest issue is solid protein.  I'm pretty sure I'm not getting enough in everyday.  If you have some solid protein suggestions feel free to e-mail me or comment on this post.

Exercise is still going well.  I'm so proud of myself for working out.  I am taking the workout clothes and shoes on my trip.  I will workout all three days.  If I don't it will totally through me off.

I'm including a picture of me in the pants I wore to work today.  I kept pulling on them all day.  I can still wear them as my ass is huge and holds them up.  If my butt ever disappears I might actually have to buy some new clothes.  LOL
This picture is so unflattering...but you get the point!

Good Monday Morning!

When I was 7 years old I was walking to the store with my dad.  Apparently, I was walking with my head held down.  Just looking at the ground.  My dad stopped and told me to look at him.  He bent down on his knees and said to me, "Dawnyalynn always walk with your head held high.  Never look down.  Show the world that you are something special.  Look people in the eye.  Never walk with your head down." I remember this with such clarity because my dad did not teach me many things as he choose not to be around.

Every since that day I walk with my head held high and shoulders back.  I feel empowered when I look someone in the eye.  In those moments I am in control of my life.  I am in control of what I will let happen to me.

Taking control of your life is the hardest thing a person can do.  By have lapband surgery I decided to take control of my life.  Some days are better than others.  Sometime I feel it was a stupid decision and it will not make a difference.  Then I remember the things I can do now that I couldn't even dream of doing a few months ago.  I workout at least 4 times a week.  That in itself is something to be proud of.

I'm posting this to say that wherever you are in your weight loss journey...don't look down. Walk with your head held high, your shoulders back and a smile on your face.  Tell yourself everyday that you can and you will achieve your goal.

My kiddo first Ballet

I took my daughter to see the Ballet for the first time tonight.  She loved it.  It was community night so I didn't have to dress up.  Here is a pic.  I know I'm biased...but isn't she a cutie.  LOL

Changes

A few months ago I applied for a position here at my job.  Technically I'm overqualified for the position, but I wanted it anyway.  Today I checked my application status that stated I didn't meet the education requirements for the position.  For a split second I was really pissed off.  Actually, I'm still kinda pissed off about it.  However, I refuse to let it destroy me.  I have learned from personal experience that if you don't get something it really isn't meant to be.  My goal for the day is to remember that there must be something better for me coming along.  This setback will not define who I am and what I want in life.  I will succeed.  I will be triumphant in all that I do.

I haven't stepped on the scale in awhile.  Not because I don't want to know what I weigh, but I think I was becoming obsessed with it.  So I am going to do a once a month weigh in.  Everyday or every week is driving me batty.  Trust me when I tell you, I can not afford to lose any more brain cells.

On the band front...no big changes.  I am being extremely careful since my stuck episode on Sunday.  If I feel that something is a little dry and may cause complications I take it right out of my mouth.  Chew Chew Chew is my new motto.

Yummy in my tummy!!

My lovely band is treating me well.

Yesterday I tried bread again.  I know I said I was over bread...but it's like crack...and I'm an addict.  So here is the situation.  I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with avocado slices on a jalapeno cheese bun.  Sounds good right.  I cut the sandwich into fourths.  There was no way I was going to try biting the entire thing.  After I cut the sandwich I removed the top half of the bun.  It was great.  No complications.  I never knew chicken could be chewed so well.  LOL.  I chewed it to a second death!!!

Last night I decided to stop eating at 9 o'clock.  This gives me a 2 hour window before I head to bed.  I also realized I never have breakfast.  The reason is I'm not a morning person so I sleep until the last possible minute.  When I get up, shower and dress the last thing I have time to do is make breakfast.  This morning I decided to try that oatmeal (gross) at McDonald's.  It wasn't that bad.  I only ate a quarter of it, but it was tasty.

I have noticed since being banded I like foods I never would have touched before.  Seriously...I crave chocolate like crazy.  I have also developed this strange new love for avocado.  I swear I just buy them, cut it up add some salt and pepper and I'm happier than a cat covering up shit.  That stuff is good.

Have an awesome Wednesday!!!

P.S.  I just noticed way to many of my post involve food.  So not good.

Bandster eating and BOOBS Roomies

Okay...thanks for all the comments about the bread and spinach situation.  Let's never speak of it again.  LOL.  I was terrified to eat the rest of the day.  However, after awhile I realized I was starved.  So I had 1/2 cup of chicken tortilla soup with half an avocado.  Everything went well.  Thank you band goddessess!!

Fast forward to lunch today...the same damn soup did not want to cooperate.  I really think it was the cheese being a melt blob.  What I've realized is that I didn't follow the chew, chew, chew rules since being banded.  It is now  obvious that I will need to chew like my life depends on it...because I can't even do that slimy thing on a regular basis.  I would just die.

I had popcorn for dinner.  LOL...I know, not the healthiest meal, but I wasn't really hungry.  Still not hungry.  This means I need to start on protein shakes again...to make sure I get enough protein on days like this.

I have roommates for BOOBS.  People actually like me.  LOL.   I will be staying with 3 fabulous women.  I'm sure I can corrupt them...if not the other way around.  I can't wait to Chicago.

I'm actually heading to Chicago next week.  A very good friend is getting her Master's Degree at 53.  I'm so proud of her.  I am flying in to surprise her at graduation.  She is going to love it. I get to spend time with her and all 4 of my besties.  I'm so excited.

Usually when I make plans for going home I plan my visit around what I plan on eating.  Not this time.  I do plan on hitting some of my favorite spots, but I'm not totally planning my visit around food.  That is huge for me.  I do plan on doing some shopping.  I love to shop!!

PBing, slime...and puking....so not cool

I have been banded almost 6 months.  In that time I have only twice had a stuck episode.  Each time if I just sat still it would just pass.  Well today took it to a whole new level.  It took me to a place I never want to visit again.

So I made my spinach, feta, egg white breakfast with a whole wheat mini pita pocket.  This is a meal I have had several times since being banded.  It has never given me a problem.  This was the first time since my recent fill on Tuesday that I went for bread.  Apparently, that fill ended my breaded life.

I'm sitting there feeding my son a Popsicle after having the meal because I'm stuck.  I figure it would just pass as usual.  NOT.  I had to drop the kid and run to the bathroom.  It was PB and slimming.  No biggie...then I realized I had to puke.  Me puke...nah...I don't puke.  I hate to puke.  Well I had no damn choice.  Well I think it is over so I head back out to finish feeding the baby his Popsicle.  About 10 seconds in I had to drop the kid again...more damn puke.  And it hurt.

I am over bread.  I can not stand to have this type of pain in my life.  Whew.
