Jillians Thirty Day Shred

So I read about this over at Chubby McGee's blog.  I researched it and thought...what the hell.  I'm going to do it tonight.  I may not be able to walk tomorrow, but oh well.  I need something...something to help me start losing.  I am not losing.

I was reading some blogs and some comments on my blog.  I need more protein.  Like a shake or something.  I also need to start taking vitamins.  The vitamins I was taking before surgery are not band friendly.  I tried the liquid vitamin thing and that totally made me gag.  So vitamin suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to order some Premier Vitamin shakes tonight.  I have heard that are great.  I'm also going to order the Unjury protein shakes.

Challenge
So I realized that working out 6 days was not a good idea for me.  LOL. So I'm sticking with 5 days a week.  I didn't workout on Friday.  However, I did on Saturday and I will be doing Jillian's tonight before going to bed.

I'm scheduled to get off work early tomorrow.  If that works out I am going to go to the fitness center (it really needs an upgrade) at my job.  I have a plan on making the stair master my bitch.  I'm working my way up to 10 minutes at a time.  I am at 6 minutes now.

So I have a fill appointment on Tuesday.  I'm not looking forward to it.  My TOM is here and I hate getting on the scale at this time.

I have a few questions.  Please don't think I'm silly.  I often read where people claim they have "water weight".  What is that?  How do you know the difference?

I use the chewable one a day vitamins... they are like gummy bears.

I use the generic flintstone's chewables. They don't taste horrible, unlike the Centrum Chewables (ick!). I then supplement with calcium through Tums and a Calcium Citrate with D petites (it's the only-non-chewable I have to swallow).

Water weight is just when our tissues (mostly muscles) hold onto extra water because of too much salt, or to repair muscle from exercise, or from dehydration. Any daily fluctuation is going to be water weight for the most part in my opinion. If I gain 2 lbs in one day, I absolutely know it's water because the amount of calories you'd have to consume to put on a pound of fat in one day is astronomical.

I just use chewable generic vitamins. They work well with me. I can't swallow the larger ones.

Well I have a bariatric advantage chewable and I really DON'T love it. I end up taking a gummy which is much more like candy! Since I was low on B vits I also started taking one of those..but it is a tiny little pill.

I agree with Lyla and water weight. I always seem to gain weight around my period. No ounces...lbs. I'll be like 2-3 lbs up for a few days! Pisses me off!

I am much friendlier today my friend. I'd accept hugs from you! Hee he!

Water weight for me happenes if I have too much salt in a meal (Chinese or soup) and the sodium just latches onto the water in my body and won't let go for love or money. I know it's water weight when I see a 4 lb jump on the scale in a day or two. Water reteintion also happens to me when I start working out after taking some time off, especially weight training. It flushes out in 3 or 4 days, but you need to make sure you are drinking more water, to flush out the excess your body is holding onto. I know it sounds counter productive, but it is how our bodies work. If you are retaining fluid, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!

I use gummy ones...they taste yummy and you can chew them.

I can't add much to the water weight discussion. Basically there are certain times when my body just holds on to water for no good reason. For me it's if I go a few days without much water or work out without being properly hydrated, eat too much salt (chinese food usually) or that time of month.

TOM is satan. Water weight usually has to do with salt/sodium. Drink lots of water though and it will pass.

I take a full one-a-day multivitamin. I have only had one fill thus far though and am able to swallow the pill with no problem.

I like the Shred workout a lot. I found mine at Target for anyone looking and I paid under $10. I get my adult gummy vitamins at Sam's. It's pretty sad, but I look forward to them every day, but that's also good cause I suck at taking pills of any sort! Keep up what you are doing, the weight will come off.

Let us know how the shred is. I am interested in trying it out, but I'd like to know your thoughts. I take the chewable multi-vitamin from Celebrate as well as their calcium chewables.

Ok this is gonna sound really simple but I do the Fred Flintstone gummi multivitamins. I take two a day. I've been taking them ever since after the surgery. Yes, I spent $26 bucks for the liquid..SUCKED. Yes, I spent another $10 for the chewables..NASTY. I will most likely increase it to three a day, but I like them and they make me feel like a kid again.

I just tried my friends chewable gummy vitamins and they were awesome! I think they were just generic. It's like a little gummy bear party in your mouth.

Water weight sucks, when I started running, the scale would not move. 26.2 miles in one week (after planting my ass on the couch for 3 months) and not one pound loss. That's water weight. My muscles were used to hard while running, so to 'help' them, they hold water. Basically that's the gist of it.

I like the 30 day shred! I've tried a few times, I just need something that's a little different day to day. Good luck!
