In case it has escaped your notice….it is indeed Friday. And with Friday comes BYOC…Bring Your Own Crazy. Five little questions you can paste into your blog and answer in order to get to know your fellow bloggers better and to give your blog brain a break.
Enjoy!
1. How do you handle criticism?
It totally depends on who the criticism is coming from. If it is coming from a person who knows me...then I can accept it and try to adjust. But if it is coming from someone who doesn't know me, but think they do, I will tell them to kiss my hind parts!!
2. Who had or has had the greatest impact on your life?
Ivory Clark Jr., my grandfather. He had the greatest impact on my life for 15 wonderful years. Things he taught me as a child I still abide by today. He was the one who told me to be myself...even if no one else like me. He taught me to trust in God...even when it was the hardest thing to do. He taught me that I don't have to kiss any one's ass to get along with them...and if they expect me to too...I don't need them. He taught me that if a man could not treat me as good as he did or better, to leave him alone. But most importantly...he taught me about love. I miss him every single day.
3. If you had a friend that spoke to you the way YOU speak to yourself – would you keep them as a friend and for how long?
Yup!! I already have one. My bestest good friend in the whole wide world, Karla. She talks to me like I talk to myself. We have been best friends since we were 17. Our first encounter resulted in a fist fight. It's not my fault I thought it was funny she couldn't get into her locker. But she took it too far by snatching my book out of my hand. It was on like donkey Kong after that. Once the fight was over...we decided to share a locker and have been best friends ever since. LOL
And she talks to me like she is my keeper. But I need her brutal honesty. The cool thing about it though...is she is always supportive.
4. Do you think crying is a form or weakness or a form of strength?
No!!! Crying is like taking your soul to the laundromat. I think we all need a good cry at least once a month. Crying helps the healing process. I believe it is therapeutic.
5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in blog land and in real life.
Blogland: I'm rocking a new blog design thanks to Jen. I'm sure she is tired of me...if ya ll haven't figured it out yet...I'm kinda needy. LOL I have learned that I am sometime to hard on myself. I guess I just don't want to disappoint myself or my family (real life and blogland). I have had the opportunity to enjoy the post from the mini B.O.O.B.S. brunch in New York...and be extremely jealous in the process. I have witnessed some amazing transformations this week due to 1 year bandiverssary's of Camille, Tessie Rose, and Grace. It's amazing to see how far they have all come.
Real life: It's looking up. I'm feeling good about my exercise output this week. Four days under my belt. I'm excited about my mother receiving county assisted health insurance that will allow her to visit the doctor and dentist for only $10. I had an awesome dinner/happy hour with 2 good friends this week. I'm overall in a good place this week. I love when that happens.
